"You like me because I'm a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life."

Hello All!

It is a pleasure to be here in the midst of such fine company!

I just recently started my Studio Scale journey, and it is the first thing that's EXCITED me in years! Born in the '70's and growing up with the OT, Kenner Toys, building our imaginary 'Falcon' out of cardboard boxes in the basement playroom, and arguing with kids on the elementary school playground about "Who was going to be Han, Luke, Chewie, DV, etc.?" I was ALWAYS Han btw! ...And 'only the cutest' girls were allowed to be Leia. (And that sounds HORRIBLE these days, doesn't it!? Being 6-7-8 years old at the time is my excuse!) But then again, I really am a 'Scoundrel!' Big Grin

Fast forward to now... life tends to get in the way of our passions most times, so it seems with most everyone. I modeled growing up, but I haven't modeled since my own kids were little. It's been a bit over 15 years ago I'd say. So I am excited to be back, and excited to be feeling the way I did back then! Although jumping in now kind of makes a person wish he had followed those dreams 20 years ago! BOY are things expensive these days! My wallet seems a bit more light these days... (Original price: $1.44. That's ILM pricing! Haha!)

TBH it kind of feels like "I" am back, after being missing for so many years. I have been dreaming of this moment since I visited the "Star Wars: Magic of Myth" at the Field Museum in Chicago back in 2000. Totally in awe of what ILM had done with these models. It makes a TOTALLY DIFFERENT impression on you when you see them all in person and begin to understand the amount of work it took to create these models that we all salivate over! Photos don't do any of them justice! You must see them in person! Seriously all works of art on the level of, or dare I say even better than in my opinion, DaVinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, Rembrandt, van Gogh...

(And not to be a downer here! This is a good thing!) This new journey also has dual meaning for me, as my Dad passed in November the year 'Magic of Myth' came through town. He was a huge SW fan too, and we shared that together. Visiting that exhibit with him that Summer is one of the last things I remember doing with him before he passed. We talked for hours and hours about it afterward, discussing how they must have created everything, and all of the intricacies of all we had just seen. We both were in complete awe! So starting this journey kind of makes me feel like he's sitting here with me through it.

Anyways, just as I'm sure ALL of you have had similar moments in your life, I am sure we all share the same passion in this. My only hope is to be able to contribute to the 'cause' in a meaningful way along my journey! And I would like to personally thank all of you in advance for your contributions! And there is one individual in particular deserves more "Thank You's" than I can give! You know who you are!

With Much Thanks and Appreciation,
Jason (Aggrsv_Perfctr)
